In Into the Wild, Christopher McCandless gives up many of his possessions in pursuit of freedom and meaningful experiences. If you had to simplify your life and keep only a few important possessions, what would you keep and why? What would be hardest to leave behind?

I would keep my bed, for comfort, seating, and sleep. My phone, for entertainment, and staying in the loop. Golf clubs, for a hobby, and entertainment. Some weights, to stay active and strong. Finally, I would keep my car, for transportation. I would have to leave behind my fishing gear, which is very sad. But I already have golf on here, which is already a hobby so fishing had to go.

Today we read chapters 2 & 3 in class, and answered questions along the way. We had to match themes, and explain the reasoning.

This book is engaging and intriguing. Although, the format of how the story is told is a little weird, but we'll have to see how it plays out.
