Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

In 5th grade, my best friend moved away to somewhere in Florida. I had no clue he was doing that, and for a week straight in school, I noticed that he wasn't at school. So I go up to my teacher and ask where he was. She says that he moved. I didn't want to believe her, but it was the truth. I was the saddest person at school for the next week. I didn't even want to talk to any of my other friends. This represents "Nothing gold can stay" because it represents a great friendship, that sadly had to come to an end.

Today in class we read 2 poems by Robert Frost, and did some analyzing on the first one. The second one, we had to answer some questions about it on a worksheet.

I got better at using context clues to find definitions of words, even if I don't know what they mean.
