For most of you, yesterday you took the SAT. If you did not, you will take it before you leave high school. What is your desired SAT score? Identify your top three colleges and explain why each school appeals to you.

For me, my desired SAT score is anything above a 1200. Of course, anything higher than that is great, but I know how smart I am, and I know my boundaries. My colleges of choice are WCU because of the campus, size, and majors. Another college is UNG. I've always liked that college, and enjoyed the campus. Finally, I would like to go to UGA. Which is unlikely, but It's always worth a try. My mom and brother went there. They have my desired major, and love the college.

Today we read chapter 7 of Into the wild. We also took note of questions we had, what unfamiliar words we see, a prediction, made sketches, etc.

I enjoyed the task we had while reading today. Gave a good bit of work to do while comprehending the book.

 One time when I was younger, I was climbing a tree, and kept going up and up until I couldn't go any higher. Once I made it to that point, I enjoyed the view. By the way, I'm about 50 feet in the air. I start working my way down, but I get to a point where there is not an easy way back down. I start to panic, and nobody was near me to help. I knew I had to lock in to stay alive. I hugged onto the main tree, and slid my way down to the nearest branch. I thought I was fine until I heard a crack come from beneath me. A poem about a young boy doing a man's job with using a saw, eventually kills himself by cutting off his hand. I learned a lesson to always be careful, and do what you want to do as a kid, before doing a man's job.

Write about a truth you were afraid to accept.

One truth I was afraid to accept was when my dog passed away. I didn't believe it but my parents already broke the news. I was in the 4th grade and it was my childhood dog. It was like losing my best friend. It was a very sad day and didn't want to accept it. Today we took notes on arguing. We also did some examples of using ethos pathos and logos. I learned more about the 3 rhetoric appeals and how to properly use them.

Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

In 5th grade, my best friend moved away to somewhere in Florida. I had no clue he was doing that, and for a week straight in school, I noticed that he wasn't at school. So I go up to my teacher and ask where he was. She says that he moved. I didn't want to believe her, but it was the truth. I was the saddest person at school for the next week. I didn't even want to talk to any of my other friends. This represents "Nothing gold can stay" because it represents a great friendship, that sadly had to come to an end. Today in class we read 2 poems by Robert Frost, and did some analyzing on the first one. The second one, we had to answer some questions about it on a worksheet. I got better at using context clues to find definitions of words, even if I don't know what they mean.
