Based on the first 40 minutes of the film and Chapters 1–11 of the book, does the visual version of Chris’s journey make his choices seem more justified or more reckless than the text does? Explain how the medium (film vs writing) shapes your perspective.

I think the movie makes his decisions more justified because we see how empty it is, and how NOBODY is ever around him, so he really only has 1 choice, and that's to trust them and hop in. In the writing, I don't visualize as many details as I see in the film. The film I can see tone, setting, and mood, while the book is more of a guessing game/imagination. Smaller details that wouldn't be included in the book, can be picked up in the movie.

Today we watched the first 40 mins of Into the Wild and answered some comparison questions along the way. It was nice to finally be able to visualize Alex's journey.

I loved watching the movie because it put a lot of pieces of the story together, and connected everything nicely. I look forward to finishing it!
