If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

My poem would be about the work grind. School and out of school. Recently, work load has been on the increase (unfortunately), teachers are assigning more homework, and less classwork. And now that golf season has started, it gets hard to find enough time to relax besides weekends. And even on weekends, I have to study for upcoming tests and the ACT/SAT. Plus my social life on weekends. It's rough but I try my best to find time to knock everything out, and enjoy my time. Today we took notes on how to write a rhetorical analysis. Thesis too. I learned the basics on how to write a rhetorical analysis.

When you are in a mood that you do not like, what are some strategies that you use to change your mood?

I don't like to talk to anyone. I would go be by myself for a bit, maybe drink some water, and think about what I would do. I would come up with a plan before I go back to whatever I was doing. Today we did 2 commonlit assignments. I got better at reading comprehension.

Describe your personal approach to creativity. What steps do you follow when you’re working on a project. Tell me about a project you created that you were most proud of.

My approach to creativity starts off with brainstorming ideas. I like to have a plan whenever I'm working on a project. One project that I was most proud of was the mask project in your class. I took a lot of time and preparation for it. It turned out nice too. I liked using my creativity and personality to create my mask how It represents me. Today we wrote our vocab, and did a writable assignment on a short story. We answered multiple choice questions, then some short answer questions. I learned some new vocabulary today, and recognized it in the text.

After two weeks of studying rhetorical devices, types of rhetoric, and methods for identifying rhetorical techniques, which rhetorical device do you find most effective or compelling, and why?

I find hyperboles most effective because they are used to over emphasize a point it's trying to make. They can be used to create humor, create an emotion flare, create drama, and create dominance when it's used. They are also effective because of how easy they are to use. You can really say anything with an extreme exaggeration, doesn't even need to be related to the topic youre talking about, and it will still work. Today we took our rhetorical device test. I did pretty well on the test. I got what I was aiming for, and was never really lost during any portion of the test.

Choose a vocabulary word that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

One vocab word that resonates with me is anecdote. This word means a lot to me because my dad would always tell me stories about his childhood. He would go on and on if I never stop him! But I always love hearing him tell about what he experienced and the memories he made growing up. Today we did vocabulary lesson 7. We created sentences using the vocab words, then completed exercises 3 and 4. Today I learned new vocabulary, and got some words to stick.

Write about a time you didn’t feel like yourself.

I didn't feel like myself when I went to a party with a ton of people. I'm an introvert, and partying doesn't really interest me, so I kinda got peer pressured into going. It was pretty boring for the most part, and I wasn't in my natural character. Today we worked on the MLK rhetorical analysis assignment. We read and analyzed MLK's "I Had A Dream" speech, to find rhetorical devices, crisis rhetoric, and rhetorical appeals. I got halfway done with the assignment today, and feel like I've done a good job finding everything.

Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

I feel most at peace when I'm camping. Camping is an Idyllic day for me as well. Fishing, hiking, relaxing without a bad thought in your brain, the smells, the color of everything around you, the water, the food, the people you're with, the views you get, and the memories it leaves behind. Everything is so peaceful and relaxing while camping. Today we completed more rhetorical device notes and work. I enjoyed the work today. I learned about procatalepsis and distinctio.

Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

I had to rely on someone to finish a project we were working on. It was for AV tech and film. I had to rely on a friend to finish editing out a short film. I was nervous because this guy had never edited a project before. But in the end, it worked out fine. Today we did some more rhetoric work. We read president trump's speech, and had to identify rhetorical devices. I got better at understanding and identifying rhetorics in daily life.

What life skills have you learned in high school that will help you live independently after high school? Which skills do you think are essential for your success after high school?

I've learned and gotten better with time management. Mostly for homework. I've also improved on communication skills that will sure help out right now, and when i'm older. Especially for talking in an interview for a job, or talking to someone for a relationship. Finally, I've gotten good at problem solving that will be very prevalent when I'm older. Today we talked about and took notes on the types of rhetoric. I learned about all (or most) types of rhetoric, and can identify some of them.

Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

I took a hiatus from a practice SAT during the winter break. It was taking a long time, and I really needed a brain break. It didn't really impact me in any way, but when I came back from my break, I had to calm my brain down again. Today we did more rhetoric devices. We talked about rhetorical questions, antithesis, hypophora. I liked learning the new rhetoric devices.

Use a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes to describe today's lesson.

Our class today wasn't too bad. We wrote so much, my hand nearly fell off. There was a lot of writing, it didn't take a long time. Today we learned about rhetoric. We did examples of hyperboles, understatements, and litotes. I liked learning about and creating our own sentences with the types of rhetoric.

In 2–3 well-developed sentences, reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break. Then, identify four personal you would like to achieve this year and briefly explain why each goal is important to you (Copy and paste your completed response from Writable into your blog).

My break was very enjoyable. I spent time down in Mobile, AL, to visit family for a few days. I played a lot of golf with friends, and even got a new putter for Christmas! I played a lot of board games with my family and it got pretty competitive (lol).  1) The first goal that I hope to achieve in 2026 is to finish 11th grade with A's in all of my classes.  This goal is important because I am trying to maintain above a 4.0 GPA, which would be very beneficial for me for applying to colleges.  To achieve this goal, I plan to stay focused and on top of my classwork, as it counts towards the highest part of my grade. I plan on studying for tests in the future, not just last minute. By doing this, I believe I will walk away with all A's by the end of the school year. 2) My second goal that I hope to achieve in 2026 is to break 80 in golf.  This goal is important to me because it is a huge milestone that every golfer dreams of completing one day. I've love seeing growth an...
