Prompt Response: One time I felt connected to nature was when I finished a hike to the top of a mountain, and just took in a big breath of air, then exhaled. It makes me notice more things you wouldn't normally appreciate. For example, the sound of birds chirping, the beautiful clouds and sky, a nice cool breeze, and a beautiful landscape.

Summary: Today we talked about the history of native American literature.

Reflection: I learned about the characteristics of origin myths. They contain social values, customs, or cultural detail.

 One time when I was younger, I was climbing a tree, and kept going up and up until I couldn't go any higher. Once I made it to that point, I enjoyed the view. A poem about a young boy doing a man's job with using a saw, eventually kills himself by cutting off his hand. I learned a lesson to always be careful, and do what you want to do as a kid, before doing a man's job.

Write about a truth you were afraid to accept.

One truth I was afraid to accept was when my dog passed away. I didn't believe it but my parents already broke the news. I was in the 4th grade and it was my childhood dog. It was like losing my best friend. It was a very sad day and didn't want to accept it. Today we took notes on arguing. We also did some examples of using ethos pathos and logos. I learned more about the 3 rhetoric appeals and how to properly use them.

In 5th grade, my best friend moved away to somewhere in Florida. I had no clue he was doing that, and for a week straight in school, I noticed that he wasn't at school. So I go up to my teacher and ask where he was. She says that he moved. I didn't want to believe her, but it was the truth. I was the saddest person at school for the next week. I didn't even want to talk to any of my other friends. This represents "Nothing gold can stay" because it represents a great friendship, that sadly had to come to an end. Today in class we read 2 poems by Robert Frost, and did some analyzing on the first one. The second one, we had to answer some questions about it on a worksheet. I got better at using context clues to find definitions of words, even if I don't know what they mean.
